I am off to Europe on a vacation! I decided to cash in some of the miles I have been earning over the years and am on my way to Paris. I will spend the weekend in Paris but after that, I am off to Italy. I could have called this trip "Food and Art" but decided on "Jim and Chris' Adventures." I will be traveling with my friend Chris. This is his first time to Europe. I am not sure if he has any idea what is in store during the next few weeks. To be honest, I am not completely sure myself what the next 11 day will bring. There is no itinerary and there are nights I am not sure what city we will be staying in. I got the idea for doing this trip earlier this year while I was taking a day tour from London to Paris. Although the tour was great, we went saw most of it sitting on a bus. Just a few years earlier, I spent a couple of days in Paris while traveling on business. It was summer and the lines to get into anything seemed very long. We spent most of the time walking and eating. Although I felt like I had seen more and learned more on the tour, we didn't even have a chance to sit at the cafe. In other words, we didn't experience Paris and with any group tour, there is a lot of time spent re-grouping with "The Group". I wanted to go back to Europe and to experience it. I wasn't going to take another international trip this year but as I watched the airlines continue go further and further into the red, I decided it was time to start using the frequent flyers miles I have accumulated over the years. So Chris and I are off Europe, with just a few reservations and a Eurail Pass.
